Not overwhelmed but....

...dangerously close to it!

I realized my schedule would be tough, but wow. My social life is pretty much nonexistent right now. Anyone feel like this? Let's vent (you know you're dying to)

Eh, this year is deffiently consuming a lot of my time, but i think it's important to have a social life too so i always leave time 4 my friends :)

absolutely no social life. This weekend? Friday-worked on paper, went to bed at 9, then Saturday, like 10-12 at nursing home, made lunch for myself & looked over stuff, then sat class from 2-9 (AHHH, no break either, so it was like a school day, longer, actually)...then I fell asleep exhausted. Then, Sunday, I made tuna, went to the beach for 2 hours (which was good) , SAT class from 2-6, Mass from 6:30-7:30...I had to actually stop and think about whether having an hour dinner would affect me.

That was the same for me in junior/senior year. Go to classes, then depending on the time of year go to sports practice, go home, do homework until 1 or 2, then sleep. Rinse and repeat.

Huh, I managed to find time in my schedule to go to my school's dance, which helped keep my sanity... but yeah. I am in charge of 4 clubs at my school which, on top of college apps and school work, means that the time that I don't waste procrastinating here on CC or elsewhere is spent in furious work mode. I can't believe it's only the second full week of school for me..

eh. i want more work.

the east coast is GAY. it sucks that we... well i know most kids in nyc at least, have to deal with double periods for ap sciences. im taking ap physics and ap bio, and that already is 4 periods. it takes it so much harder to fit in aps. im taking 3, and ive been trying to get myself into a 4th, but nope.

yawn. ah welps. ill be self studying a few i think, much like the rest of you. ; )

^^^ Yeah...our school doesn't bother with double periods. We can only take one AP science class at a time, and class starts at 6:45 (a full hour before regular school).

Gotta love that.

With tennis, I don't usually get home until about 8 on weeknights, and then I'm a junior that is in all IB classes. It's a tad bit stressful! (understatement of the century) :)

I'm taking 4 APs, self studying 5, baseball practice, and marching band.

It's not that hard and the material isn't that hard either, it's just that my AP Physics teacher is TERRIBLE. All he does is assign work, doesn't explain ANYTHING, and he makes tests 85% of our grade. So I'm, the guy who has never taken a Physics class before, screwed.

Just come home, workout, homework, study, SAT practice. Don't really have any EC but doesn't matter since I'm going to a school like Rutgers or NJIT, nothing like NYU.

i wouldn't be overwhelmed so much if:
1.i knew what my physics teacher was talking about
2. i managed my time better

I have so much work because I decided to take AP Gov, which people said wasn't bad. I didn't realize that "not bad" was compared to AP Euro and US, which I did not take. There is so much outlining! And I have math team, drama, marching band, and who knows what else. Guitar is also very distracting.

" i wouldn't be overwhelmed so much if:
1.i knew what my physics teacher was talking about"

Same boat here, except I wish he knew what he was talking about as well.

All my Physics teacher teaches us is vocabulary. Which I guess isn't that bad since it helps me on the SAT's. And my vocab, I mean probably a thousand or more by end of the year.

I'm overwhelmed and I haven't even started my community college English class left! :( I'm only taking 3 IB classes instead of 4 now.. So far ALL of my IB classes are easy except my Math class is hard! I'm not even taking IB math and it is my hardest class... grr

But in a couple years this all will pay off, so don't give up!lol :)

hah, what is with this horrible defiency of physics teachers? I'll do you guys one better-my teacher sucks AND hasn't come in the last 4 days!

know what scares me?

our year (current jnrs) is supposed to be the worst year ever for college admissions, because our year was the big baby boomer year. after us, it gets a tad less cut - throat.

anyways.. on to the scary part.
what if we all bust our butts... do the craziest things and never sleep, but end up not going somewhere that meets our expectations, to the say the least.

I can agree. My mom became worried last week and made me go to a therapist and evidently I'm depressed and have a anxiety disorder. I do put too much pressure on myself but that seems pretty normal to me. I have somewhat a social life. I hag out with my friends on Friday or Saturday.

haha man i think thats normal. i'm probably just as bad as you if not worse. if you dont think youre depressed dont let some guy tell you that you are. ignore him, and if he says something again smack him ; ). we're all in this together... so dont worry, theres 100s of us just like you.

I actually don't feel overwhelmed but my parents think I am. They want me to drop something. I told them I liked everything I did and couldn't choose. Anyone else have this problem?
