So I take classes at a nearby college (very well known, high ranked university). One of the classes was directly in my "passion." I had gotten great scores on everything, but I ended up with an A-. It was also a class full of juniors/seniors, as it was a high numbered course (not a 101 or whatever). Do you think that this will hurt me? I don't usually crib about an A- but this is in the field that I want to pursue. My GPA at this institution (3 classes total) is 3.7. Again, it is a very high ranked university so I'm hoping that kind of makes up for it...

Many very highly-ranked universities (Princeton included) have rules that say professors can’t give more than a B as the class average; 1 high score given to Alice = 1 low score given to Bob. Having an A- pretty much means you beat more than 80% of the class.

EDIT> Wait, is it Princeton? If so I might know you from last year’s HS program meet.

Haha, nope its not Princeton. Thanks for the input.

I guess I am just worried. My grade was actually curved DOWN.
