"Not Qualified to Transfer?" *please help*

Hi.

I am currently at a community college and I applied for transfer for Fall 2014 at Stony Brook University the first week of February . I have 27 college credits here, so I didn't think I had to send my high school/sat scores

However, 3 of those credits are from an AP class, so transferring, it would be a TC on my transcript.
In addition, 3 of the other credits are from a CLEP exam which I took in order to opt out of ENG101

There was a transfer fair at my school today and one of the SBU advisors informed me that I wasn't qualified to apply because I didn't have enough credits. When I pointed out that I had twenty seven he said that they don't count AP as transfer credit and that I probably wouldn't be accepted without my spring term grades or my high school & SAT scores.

I never recieved an email from Stony Brook requesting my high school transcript or SAT after I sent my paperwork. I checked my SOLAR account to validate and it said I had everything I needed submitted. I am worried that I could potentially get denied because of it. (I had a 4.0 in high school but an average SAT score so I'm not too fond of sending out my SAT score)

I was wondering if anyone could verify the information I was given. Without my AP course I still have 24, however that is with my CLEP credits still in place. I was curious if the admissions office didn't look at TC from another college if they are from AP or CLEP. If so, will I be notified if my high school transcript is needed?

AP and CLEP credits do not count for transfer admissions purposes. If you’re transferring, we need two full-time semesters with at least 24 total credits and a 3.0 GPA.

We’ll probably hold for your spring grades; get them to us as soon as they’re posted.

@sbuadmissions how will I know that that is what SBU will do? Will I get an email?
