Not really a chance but...Should I be happy going to.......

Ik this is for chances and I dont really ask about that but...

I have a 3.6 UW, im a junior, in NY, I will have taken probably taken 6 AP's by the time im done with senior year, im President of a club, have over 600 hours of Comm.Service already, havent taken my SAT's yet but they should be between 1850 and 2050. Im a regular member of a few clubs, VP of a group outside of school, nothing that really stands out.

I know i have good stats, but I also know that I dont have anything that will make me stand out, and I dont have anything that would make me a shoe in. I know that if I apply to Bing, or Geneseo, or another SUNY, I will most likely get in and get a good f.a. package. Is it selfish and conceited of me to not be happy with that lol, I mean, I know there are really good SUNY schools but not many people outside of here have heard of Geneseo and I cant help but feel like there is no prestige to it. Im sure I can get into other good schools but we really are struggling financially and I know I wont get any good scholarships or anything from expesnive schools that I apply to, so should I just be happy with the SUNY's?

There is a wide range between state schools and elite private schools. Many privates offer merit scholarships for which you might qualify. Do a web search of schools in NYS and Pennsylvania, or further if you feel adventurous. Some in PA would be Moravian, Marywood, Kings, Arcadia. Mid-range schools with generous scholarships that are not need-based could be a great option.

Thanks, not that this really matters but I know I would love to go somewhere either in NY, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts, I love Boston. I just don’t want to go somewhere that I have to explain where it is lol, I know that there are so many good schools that are generally unheard of, but my HS is pretty competitive and there are a lot of people going to big name schools
