hey, submitted my application on the second of jan, does Mudd have some sort of portal? they havn't acknowledged me yet. should I be worried?
cheers

I would not fret too much - they are digging through a lot of files right now and it can take a while for things to settle out. That being said, you could email them if it will make you calmer.

My son has not received any acknowledgment of receipt or letter about anything missing. He emailed them last week to ask about the status of his app. I guess the email is buried with his app, mid-year report, FAFSA and CSS Profile. YIKES!! The poor adcoms. I don’t envy them this time of year.

Any else out there hear anything? Know anything?

Last year we did not receive any correspondence from Mudd during the process except for a generic reminder to complete our CSS Profile. The acceptance folder came regular mail at the end of March.

Spooky…I heard from them yesterday. All admission info received as well as Profile. Some system issues w/FAFSA that they expect to resolve shortly.

Lizardrock - Do you/your child go to Mudd? Would you mind sharing why or why not either via PM or here?

My son applied ED this year and didn’t get anything from HM until the acceptance letter. Our college counselor says that, in general, schools will let you know if something is missing but don’t always tell you that the application is complete. The adcoms are probably working very long days right now too, so any response will probably be slow.
Best of luck to all!

Really? I got a letter in the mail a few days after I submitted my ED app this year that basically said that they received my app.

Same as iForgot, my letter said something like “Thank you for applying via Early Decision to Harvey Mudd, everything is received…”

I’m pretty sure my son didn’t get any mail about having his app in. It’s possible I forgot about it, but I don’t think so. For the other schools he applied to - there was a way to check on applications online for two (big state schools), but it was very slow to update. The overseas schools were a whole different thing.

I don’t recall my son receiving any mail or email about his application being complete, either. He did receive an email message about a document missing from his file, and we received a phone call about the application deadline for financial aid.

amanguy, you could just email or call and ask them whether your file is complete.

FLMathMom - daughter is attending Mudd class of 2014. Any information you would like in a more personal matter don’t hesitate to contact me.

I didn’t receive any letters or emails from them, but I called their office and one of their staff members pulled up my file and was able to tell me that everything made it in. I’m sure they would be happy to do the same for anyone else!
