So I submitted my applications for both UC and CSU, however I think I made a big mistake which might set me for failure. For both the CSU & UC, I put in the application that I will or plan to receive an AAT degree after the spring semester. I was wrong, sort of. I can receive the AAT degree if I take two courses, but I will have to re-organize my schedule; and not to mention an additional course I need to take for an Honors program I’m completing, which interferes with the courses I need for the AAT degree. The question is, despite putting that I will receive an AAT degree, will my admission for both the CSU and UC universities I’ve applied be low? Or denied?
Another thing to mention, I do plan to complete an AAT. A counselor that I spoke with assured me that I can complete the courses that are needed during the summer after this coming spring semester (my last semester). HOWEVER, I recently spoke with a different counselor, who then advised me that I needed to complete those courses during SPRING, if I’d want to be admitted for a CSU. I’m honestly lost at this point >_<
You need to speak directly with the people at the CSU and UC that you are applying to. They are the only ones who can help you sort this out.
Did you send your AA-T verification to admissions? It usually has your expected degree/ met requirements degree date. If not, email or call admissions and explain your situation. Usually they have two boxes on the supplemental application with your degree and the degree date. I.e: as-t, degree date : 5/16, or if you met the requirements on time: 12/15, something like that. But call and email them, so you can have a paper trail; because UC’s and CSU’s can screw you over. Do not throw away any electronic documents containing to the admission process, this will be used as evidence if something ever comes up. I am a transfer student as well, prospectively majoring in justice studies and currently waiting on my provisional admittance to SJSU.
