I'm taking the ACT in September, and that's the last time I will take it. I've taken it 5 times already so it would be my sixth. If I only report 2 or 3 scores, will Dartmouth know about it? Is the self reported scores kind of on the honor system?

I don’t want them to think I’m score obsessed. I’m taking it again because I KNOW I can do better, and I’m doing it as a challenge to myself. I wasn’t prepared for the other times, and this time, I am preparing.

Dartmouth will only know about the scores you report (I believe… unless ACT is different from CollegeBoard in that way).

I’m honestly not trying to be mean, but if you KNOW you can do better, why has it taken you 5 times thus far. I don’t really understand why you wouldn’t prepare for the next ACT after receiving a score that wasn’t to your liking.

As far as I know, Dartmouth will only see the scores you report to them through score choice.

I agree with Panther 5 tho. If you haven’t gotten a satisfactory score after 5 tries, what makes you KNOW you can do better on the 6th try? No offence, but although you don’t want Dartmouth to think you are obsessed with standardized test scores, you definitely DO seem to be obsessed with your ACT scores.

I know what scores Dartmouth will be likely to accept. And I don’t want to go into a long story, so I’m not going to explain why my scores haven’t improved.
