Not shooting very high - Chance me

I'm not planning to go to the higher up school like the Ivy's, but I am trying to get into a school that's well known. My major is in Computer Science and these are the schools that I'm planning on applying to:

Purdue University - west lafayette (Dream College)
Michigan Technological University
California State University, Chico
Illinois Institute of Technology
University of Hawaii at Manoa
University of Hawaii at Hilo
Georgia Institute of Technology

Stats:
Unweighted GPA: 3.5 out of 4.0
Weighted GPA: 3.8
Class rank: Top 10%

Standardized Testing:
ACT: 21
SAT: 1820
AP Psychology - 5

Extra-Curricular:
-[President (1 Year), Vice President (1 Year)] 2 years of Chess Club
-[Assistant Secretary (1 Year), Senior Secretary (1 year)] 2 years of Physics and Astronomy club
-[Treasurer (1 year)] 2 years of Japanese Club
-Math club 3 years
-Cyber Patriot 3 years (Current Captain)
-Volunteer at homeless shelter (~120 hours)
-NHS Member 1 year

For Comp. Science, try the UW. I personally think you have good chances at all these schools!

UHI Manoa: Low match
UHI Hilo: Safety
Purdue: Match/High match
MI Tech: Safety
IL Tech: Low match
GA Tech: Reach
CSU Chico: Safety

Perhaps UMass Amherst would be worth better than MI Tech, UHI Hilo or CSU Chico for computer science…

If your ACT Math score is on the order of 21, IIT is not a sure thing.

But the SAT is clearly the better credential between the ACT and the SAT… a 21 is ~1500-1550 (on the 2400 scale)…

Yeah… My ACT English was really really bad, its a 15. But my math I got a 25.

You sure the English wasn’t a fluke? You have a decent GPA and a 5 in AP Psych, so chance are you’re English/Reading skills are ATLEAST average, if not higher. That being said, strong chances at all these schools, if there are any other large schools like Purdue you want to aim for, do add them if you can get your ACT/SAT up

Well Critical Reading on the SAT was the lowest of the 3. The ACT English, I’m not sure if it was a fluke or not, but then again, ACT English was the first part of the test and I was dead tired in the morning for some reason.

bump for more opinions.

A lot depends on the Math score. A 25 on the ACT is probably an admit at IIT. If the SAT CR+M is on the order of 1200, you are in the median.

Well… I’m assuming that Math is obviously weighted more heavily if I don’t score as high on CR.

But, I think I’m getting the general idea of where I can apply to and if I can get accepted or not.

how much chance has he on GA Tech? low, mid high?

I’m pretty sure that I’m on the lower side, no way I can compete with all these top notched students.

For GA Tech, the mid 50 ACT last year was 2000-2210 and the GPA is 3.85-4.11. With SAT at 1820, it would be a mid high reach.
