Not showing up to large event look bad?

I was thinking about this, maybe you can shed some light? If you register for an event such as an open house or college tour (not speaking about an interview or one on one event) and your student does not show up, does that look badly on the student? We have one college we have registered twice for things and both times the day blew up in epic fashion (car broke down, elderly unexpectedly sick). I did call and tell them what happened but felt like it looked bad. Is unrealized demonstrated interest a negative?? Or is that not really even evaluated, only actual visits to the place.

Don’t worry about this. You aren’t the only family that has had this kind of problem for this college this year! Focus on visiting when it is possible for your family.

“Unrealized demonstrated interest.” Well, imo, just touring isn’t demonstrating. Lots of kids can’t get there for a tour and many choose to wait til admits come in.

You did right by calling them. Now he works on matching in is app, learning what that means. Imo, that’s the most critical show of interest.
