if you "work hard enough" you should get A's in all your classes right? Well are some people just born not that smart? I feel like no matter how hard I try, I can never do well in school so even if I do something about it, it doesn't change my B's to A's. Happens to anyone else/help?

Everyone should do their best. That doesn’t necessarily mean they will get an A, as that may be beyond their best in some classes. However, most students get lower grades than they potentially could, to some degree.

Not everyone is good at the same things, and the key isn’t being proud of getting an A, it’s being proud of doing your best. Whether that’s passing a class after the educational system has constantly failed you or doing everything you can to get that A, you should be proud of doing your best.

Grades aren’t your worth, what college you get into isn’t your worth, who you are and what you do are much more important. Many succeed in academia, and many more succeed in other things. Make for yourself and those you love a good life, and be proud.

If you honestly believe you are working as hard as you possibly can, then whatever grade you earn is just fine. There is nothing more you can do.

If you do your best, and it’s not an A, then be ok with that. Your best is your best.

I think we all fall victim to being discontent with our best, sadly. It’s such a competitive world out there.

Most of our teachers, succinctly or directly say that if you put in full and forthright effort, you will get an A(-).

I have a friend like that. Whatever, just be happy. Grades are not necessarily proportional to the amount of work put in.

Of course, pure effort is not the only thing; one also has to be smart with how they use their time and effort (i. e. time management). Maybe that will help?

I think what you are speaking of is a different type of valuable “intelligence” and these kind of people are needed in the world We can’t just have a bunch of lazy cocky intellectuals
