I really wanted to go for Stanford, but I kind of gave up on the idea after I got my SAT results. I may take it again in October, but I doubt it will improve much. What do you think?

Well, in my opinion, you have good grades & scores overall... you could improve on your CR section & US History. Pretty decent ECs. I think you need more volunteer things though.. I only see 3.5h/week Math Lab Mentor. How many hours did you devote, in total? and why not go for Standford? Best to give it a shot than give up. And what exactly do you want to pursue? I can't see a pattern in your writing. Do you want to do computer science? Do yoou have any experience with programming? what type of computer science?

Yes, I am thinking about majoring in computer science. I have done the mentoring for 45 weeks; a whole school year. I know a few programming languages, and the BPM research internship relates to the major I am pursuing. Also, I am going to be at the Pennsylvania Governor School this summer. I hope that it's a bump.

I don't think SATII History score matters much because it is not really pertinent to my interest and the other two SAT IIs are 800s.

Regarding Stanford, I don't think I have even a chance unless I make an early decision. Plus, because I am an Asian, I have a lot of competition with more qualified applicants ;). I don't think i'll survive that.

Do you plan to take any APs? like AP computer science?
I think you need to emphasize your interest in computer science more in your resume.

Yea. I got 5 on AP CS AB

for my junior year, i took the following: AP Eng., AP US Hist., AP Physics B, and Hon. French

for my senior year, I am planning to take(though, scheduling might not work): AP Stats., AP Music, AP Euro., and AP Physics C, and AP Eng. 4, and Orchestra.
