GWU is my top school and I love it but I can't go ED2 for financial reasons.
I've had an interview, I've visited the school, I've made contact with a rep over email.
I'm applying for the presidential scholar in the arts and regular decision.
My scores aren't great... CR (640) Math (610) Writing (750)
SAT2: English (650) US History (660)
I've taken 6 APS. I've gotten 4's on 3 of them (the other three I'm taking this May)
My GPA is 3.7
I do tons of extracurriculars...mostly in the arts but also in LBGT stuff and leadership things.
My college essay was well done, as was the supplement. What are my chances?
I'm from Maryland. I'm white, and I'm a girl.
I'm a National AP Scholar
what are my chances?

Arts stuff includes…President of my a capella group (9-12)
Group facilitatoe (9-12)
GSA (9-12)
12 shows…4 musicals (lead in all 4)
Taken a lot of acting classes
work for school newspaper
also a member of writing center…a coach

I think you are going to get in. Stay in touch w/ the local admissions person to indicate continues interest. Good Luck!

i think you do have a chance, good luck

thank you!

Send in an arts supplement if you can in addition to the PSA scholarship application. Make sure your area rep knows you are applying for the PSA scholarship. Keeps you on their radar more IMO.

I’d vote YES - your total SAT combined score is 2000 which is a little above the median I believe for the class of 2014. See below.

Your GPA or 3.7 (if unweighted - i.e. on a max scale of 4.0) is very good. You have a good # of AP’s with good scores. EC’s very good.

You’ve shown demonstrated interest. How did your interview go?

I interview students for med school and using a similar framework - I’d say YES! Tthe proviso is that each year the applicant pool for GW Undergraduates seem to be getting more competitive and the acceptance rate continues to decline - making GW a more selective college.

Best of luck!
