Not sure if I'm at the right university...

I'm a freshman at SUNY Stony Brook and plan on majoring in ChemE. I applied (and was accepted) to Cooper Union for ChemE and Carnegie Mellon (for sciences). I didn't know for sure I wanted to do ChemE so I went with Stony which has a million majors to choose from just in case. Well now that I am seeing how much I love ChemE I think I'm regretting my choice in applying to/choosing universities. I am thinking maybe Manhattan College or CUNY City College might be better choices for ChemE despite the schools in general not being as good as Stony? Or maybe I should attempt applying to top schools, considering I was able to get into Cooper and CMU? So confused right now.. if I stay at Stony I really hope the program is good

I know their computer science is really good, but I’m not too sure about Chemical Engineering… but I believe Stony Brook has a pretty godd undergraduate engineering program overall. (ranked #65 in the nation)

I don’t know if this helps at all but I understand Univ of Delaware has a really good chem engineering program. You might want to go visit there and any other school that has a good chem engineering program and then make your decision about applying elsewhere.

quickest way to find the quality of a program is to find what employees recruit there. If you find pretty low end employees only its a pretty low end program.
