not sure what my chances are...

Right now I am attending Mount Holyoke College as a freshman, and I realized that I probably made the biggest mistake of my life as the lifestyle here does not suit me at all. I want to transfer to a college in New York, such as Fordham, NYU, Barnard (easiest to hardest, in that order)...however is there any of you that can tell me what my chances are with these schools.

High School Stats:
GPA: 3.8
SAT: 1250
ECs: Committee Chair of Key Club, Mock Trial, Spanish Club, Habitat for Humanity, Principal Advisory Committee.

College Stats:
- obviously I've just started but I'm already on the Debate Team and Student Government Association.
-I know that GPA in college will be important if I decide to transfer next year but first year classes aren't very hard (just a lot of reading haha) so I think I'll probably earn around a 3.7.

Tell me what you think, what exactly are my chances in getting into NYU or Barnard?

NYU is iffy...more so than Barnard.

The reason I say that is because you've already had some experience with a single-sex school, and Barnard will appreciate that. I'd play up the urban vs. rural differences between your current school and the ones you're looking to transfer into.

Fordham should be relatively easy for you to get into, while NYU will perhaps be harder than Barnard to get into. You have a decent chance at both.

Too bad about MHC, most of my friends who attended loved it, although they did have to catch a bus to Amherst or Northhapton to cut loose. They didn't seem to mind and they did take classes at the other colleges.

Anyhow, good luck.
