Not sure what to write about for my NJIT letter...

I applied to NJIT last year when I was a senior and I wrote about how I was greatly interested in working with Computer hardware, how I built my own computer at a very early age blah blah blah.
I was going for computer engineering) but I did not get accepted due to SAT scores so thats that.

Fast forward to today I am in community college thinking about applying to transfer a month or so from now as a Computer Science major (for fall 2016) but I am afraid of what to write. I don’t want to write about the same thing because they may think I am just trying to do things the easy way. I am 18, I have not worked at any jobs or joined any clubs or sports (though I do play a sport for fun) ( and my dad has a company but nothing really goes on much with it) and that is because instead I spent my time learning basically a lot of IT/Admin skills (not on purpose but because I like it). I know how to set up various Linux and BSD operating systems and I can do things from setting up a web server, email server, FTP, I like messing around with Raspberry Pi’s and I wanted to try and incorporate my website name to them so I can show them that its real, so to speak. However, I feel like this is the kind of stuff I shouldn’t write about. I don’t really know what to say/write about…should I instead just write about why I want to be accepted into NJIT?

I don’t know what the prompt is, so it’s a bit hard to help you. It seems like you are a very passionate person. Most CS majors at my school (and I go to a pretty good university) don’t know how to do any of that stuff!

My advice is to focus on your passion and your curiosity, since you seem to have a lot of both.
