Not sure where i can get in

I've already applied to IU-Bloomington, Fordham, and Marquette University, Iona, Calvin College(MI). Im wondering if I should either bother applying to Boston College, Michigan, Middlebury(extreme long shot, but my cousin went there and I love the school), and maybe Northeastern. I'm eventually planning on majoring in Finance or something in Public Policy, and IU is probably my number one choice right now. I'm not too worried about starting the business program as a freshmen.

Anywho here it is:

i'm also wondering just how high i should shoot, im really just looking for the best school academically that i have a chance at, im open to other ideas or suggestions

you are in at IU and Iona and I believe you have good chances with Fordham and Northeastern. I don't know too much about the other schools. Other schools that you may be interested in that have good business programs are Purdue, Ohio State, Wisconsin, MSU, Penn State and Villanova. I think you have a strong all around profile and that you will get into a number of schools.

thanks, poi, i have looked around at some of those bigger state schools, i visited IU, thats why i like it so much, i spent alot of time looking at Villanova over the summer, and i was getting a Boston College like vibe from it as far as difficulty to get in, i wasnt sure what my chances were

bump, anyone else have any ideas?

It has become a lot tougher to get into as of late. My kid's school sends about 6 students a year to Nova, but you have the gpa and ecs that they are looking for. It may be worth a try if you liked it during the summer. I don't believe it is as difficult to get into as BC. Most of the Big 10 schools (not only the ones I listed) have very good business programs, so you can't go wrong there. Another school may be worth considering is Holy Cross. They don't actually have a business major, but they do have a pre-business and an economics/accounting major. I believe that they are test opitional also. It may help with some of these schools that you are from the midwest and not just the eastern area where they get a lot of their applicants from. Good luck!

would Nova be hard to get into without an SAT score

They take ACT scores too.

Might want to look at Holy Cross-great school with combination of academics and athletics. Holy Cross has a very strong alumni network in the business community and is SAT optional.

HC is Jesuit school like BC, and is just 40 miles west of BC (in Worcester). HC is actually older than BC and they are both run by the New England Province of Jesuits. Holy Cross is much smaller (2700) and is the oldest Catholic college in New England. Submitting SATs are optional for the admissions process at HC.

is HC's alumni network that strong in the business field? their majors for that area arent too impressive

Holy Cross has a very good alumni network in business including several CE0'S of major companies across the country.

Several HC alumni have held top positions at large companies: Bob Wright, Chairman & CEO, NBC Universal, and Vice Chairman, General Electric; James David Power III, J.D. Power and Associates founder; William J. McDonough, former President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and current Vice Chairman of Merrill Lynch; Maggie Wilderotter Chairman and CEO Citizens Communications Corp.

Do you need merit money? I think Marquette will offer you money (HC or BC won't) and I know a lot of kids who really like that school.

i am gonna need some financial aid, but i dont really want to base my decision on that

any other thoughts?

also i sent out the common app to trinity(ct) and lehigh, my chances dont look good right now but im retaking the ACT for more scholarship money if i go to IU, and im taking the SAT II's(Math 2C, and Lit) in January. Do I have a chance at Lehigh or maybe Trinity?
