(I'm an upcoming senior, so I'm too familiar with the format of apps, so bear with me please.) I heard that when you apply for college, you can select two majors. One being your primary choice and the other being a secondary choice. I'm not sure what I want to do in the future yet. I'm between law and medicine/health. Would it be weird if I put a law-related major as my primary then biology as the secondary? I would prefer not to put it as undecided. Advice, please.

PG, on the common app, you will see that the colleges ask for your first and second majors (maybe even 3rd). I don’t think it would be wierd to list your preferences. The only thing I would say about undecided is that if you have your heart set on a particular college and they are very competitive in a particular field, undecided may get a foot in the door.

You can absolutely have a law-related major and still be premed. You can get into med with any major, as long as you fill your prerequisites.

I know you can.

I would just like to add that “law” and “medicine/health” are often not majors, and even if they were, I wouldn’t recommend majoring in them even if you are pre-law or pre-health.
