Hi all, i just wanted to hear your thoughts on not taking any AP exams.
I'm a junior and i'm taking 4 AP courses right now. ( AP lang, AP ush, AP psych, AP enviro).
Honestly I don't want to take the exams, any of them, cuz my family is poor. ( i know that if you tell the school about this they will cut the price a little but still.)
And, I'm not sure if i can pass them or not.

My only concern not taking them is that colleges will be asking why i didn't take them and that it will affect my chance.

I took APwh last yr and got a 3. That's horrible but i expected it since i only had time to study for it for 2 weeks ( family issue)..

But yeah, What's your opinion? Not taking any AP exam at all will hurt you or not?

Sometimes fees can be waived altogether. Have you looked into that?
Especially if money is an issue, getting classes out of the way might allow you to graduate early, that saves big money.
Colleges typically do not look at AP scores.

I agree I would check into fee waivers. Also what colleges are you interested in. Look at their ap scores charts say you would get in college credit. The possibility that you could save a semester or two at college is huge when you compare that to the cost of the ap tests. You also would be saving book costs and possibly room and board. At some schools a 3 will earn credit at others you need a 4 or 5 . That is why you should investigate what schools you are considering would require. My sons friend took no tests and now regrets having to “sit through those boring classes” while his peers are in more advanced classes because they did test and get the credit. Time is money in college.
