Not taking AP gov test, will they cancel admission?

Ok, so on my application I wrote that in May, I'd be taking AP Stat, AP Macroecon, AP Physics B and AP Government. Well, I wont be taking AP governemnt. Although I took the AP gov class first semester I chose not to pay for my test because I took political science during my sophomore year of high school, got an A and could transfer that class to Cal for credit. My counselor kidna forced my into takign AP gov to begin with, and i saw no need to pay the extra 82 bucks to get college credit in something i already have college credit in.

They can't cancel my admission because I'm not taking this test, can they? I'm definitely meeting all other requirements and will send them my ap scores...

I don't think they would. They would care much more if you had dropped the class second semester. Like with most issues that could have serious consequences, I advise you to call the office of admissions.

yeah, I got a B in AP gov and haven't dropped anything

I think you're fine, but still think you should call to be certain.:)

No, you'll be okay. Because it said "planned." Things change. I wrote that I was going to take the English Lit test, but changed my mind because I had already passed the Engish Lang test with a 5.

And I'm a Berkeley student.

It actually didn't say planned. It was under the "test results" category of the application and it said "Test: AP Government & Politics, Taken May 2006", at that time i thought i was gonna take it..

From personal experience:

I said I was going to take the AP German test and get a 5 on it. But I decided it was impossible to learn German by myself so I gave up, didn't let them know, and here I am at Cal.

you actually said in your APPLICATION to Cal that you will take AP German and you ende dup not taking the test?? Or did you drop the class entirely?

I'm not TOO worried, but under the conditions of admission it says that admission is subject to cancellation if all supporting documentation sent does not match official records. So, I started thinking..."officially" they think I'm still gonna take the AP gov test. So, techincally the supporting documentation i'll send ( my ap test results in july) wont match what they have on record. when they recieve my AP scores in July and then see that I have scores for all AP tests besides gov they might be a concerned.
But, i guess i shouldnt' worry. It's not like a dropped a class or got a D or anything.

On my application to Cal, I said I would take the AP German test and that I would get a 5. For some high schoolish reason, I thought I could teach myself German in a couple of months (wasn't in the class) and get a 5. I ended up deciding it wasn't worth it/too hard, so I gave up, didn't take the test, and here I am at Cal.

Honestly, don't worry about it. They know things change from November to late March when you buy your test. As long as you meet the 3.0 unweighted and didn't lie about your grades or anything, you're fine.

ok, good.. But , i'm sorry i still don't quite understand, how did you tell them you were gonna get a 5? Did you say it in an essay? Cuz i don't remember being able to put in a score for a test i didn take yet...

Last year, some people from my school signed up for the test and sat there for the whole time doing nothing so that they would end up getting a 1 on the test. At least it's better than not taking the test at all.

Hm. Back in my day...(3 years ago)...there certainly was a part where you could tell them what you got/would get on each AP you listed.

the thing is, i didn't even want to waste my money on AP gov. I had already spent about the same amount takign Poli Sci 1 at a JC (the equivelent of AP gov) abotu two years ago, and was forced into AP Gov by my counselor who said i couldn't take ap econ without it. I'm already paying 246 dollars for some tests i'm probbaly not gonna do well on lol

UPDATE:

I called and they said its no big deal and nothing will happen. BUT i still need to submit it in writing.
