I am currently taking AP Psychology online and I’m doing well in the class although I am retaining barely any of the information. I was wondering if it will hurt my chances of getting into any colleges if I don’t take the AP test in May. Since I’m taking AP USH and I’d rather focus on that test all week instead of trying to cram the weekend before for the psych test.
I forgot to mention, although I thought it was implied, that I am taking the AP Pysch class. I should’ve been more clearer, my main question is will colleges look at my transcript and wonder why I didn’t report an AP score even though I took the AP class?
Did you pay for it already? If you did, just take it and don’t report the score if you don’t think it’s good
My school pays for it, but I think it would only cost me $15 if I don’t show up on the day of the test. I’m a good student but not a good test taker and I just personally believe that it would benefit my mental health if I don’t take it.
Many schools require their students to take the AP exams if they took the class. You might want to check that out.
Even if it’s not required, I suggest you still try and take it. You may do bad, but you can not report that score. If you do great, it can only help.
Either way, it can only help you, not hurt you.
Unless taking the AP test is a requirement you agreed to as part of the online course then you should be fine not to take it. My D did not take an APChem test because she knew she wanted to start the chemistry sequence from the beginning at college.
