you DEFINITELY need a computer. i dont know anyone that doesn’t have one. Just buy a netbook. or if you really dont have the money, buy an old computer off of craigslist and just have a desktop…maybe $50?

a netbook($180) would suffice especially when taking notes, I didn’t bring my laptop with me to lecture last semester, big mistake(it’s like reading chicken scratch)
plus being able to type anywhere you please is a delight+necessity(emails from GSIs with last minute announcements)

Yah, it’s all willpower. As long as you can leave your laptop at home and go study at the library, it’ll be fine. Though I must mention this: if you’re going to be spending more than a few hours at the library, it is nice to have a laptop to just browse the web and take a break.

Trust me and everyone else, a laptop is essential for college. You’ll find yourself wishing you could have instant access to Google Maps to find a location quickly, to read and respond to emails, to ask questions to someone over AIM, to type up an essay when the library is closed, etc. In this situation, you’re best going with an affordable netbook. It’ll handle all your needs.
