Hey guys, I was wondering if it would be too detrimental not to take intro chem lab along with the class. For example, can i take the class now and take the lab next semester or at another school ( I might transfer out next semester)? I don't have a problem with the class, but i don't like the school's approach when it comes to this sepecificlab(http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=295683)/ Basically, they are implementing a small scale alternative where students do everything in smaller prroportions to reduce disposal and set up as well as cost. has anayone here done this and how did it go?

There's nothing wrong with taking your lab separate from the lecture. At my school, for some classes (bio, ochem) you need to take the lab along with the lecture because many of the concepts presented in lecture correlate with the labs. But, for general chemistry, many people take the lab separate from the lecture because the lecture isn't really necessary to perform well in the lab. The only problem is that you are probably going to have to double up on a few labs in the following years.

can anyone else comment?
