Not that it makes any difference to me

but can any one explain why BU has such a small endowment? For a private school of its size, it seems unusually small. Does it have anything to do with their lack of a football team? Just curious.

It certainly doesn’t help!

No. It has to do with history. BU was never rich. It didn’t help that President Silber put a lot of money into a single biotech company but the school has never even tried big campaigns to increase its endowment. It’s kind of sad or ironic that the richest schools - like Yale - have the largest fund raising operations. They have run multi-hundred million campaigns and BU is still in its infancy in raising money from its quarter million alumni. Raising money takes a commitment of time, people and money and BU has never made that a priority.

for me: after giving half a million to BU for my edukation (key is broken so i have to type k’s), i really don’t want to give them any more lol.

I think that the way you said it was hilarious. I think maybe it goes along with the stereo-type as well - where BU is full of rick folk. A large portion of the student body, from what I have heard, pay the full tuition, so there’s a small population that might need a lot of money. Maybe that’s it. I’m not sure at all, though.

But I love the way you put it AliAngel, I think it was hysterical in a laugh on the inside kind of way (like how most of my jokes turn out).
