not your average chance thread!?

<p>I am a US citizen at an International School in Pakistan- Currently a Junior!</p>

<p>Here are my numbers:</p>

<p>GPA/CGPA: 4.00 uw
ACT: 31 (without studying, aiming for a 34)
SAT II: Expecting 750+ Will be taking (Chemistry, World History, Math 2)
APs: Will be graduating with 14 AP's ( so far I have Euro Hist(5), Art Hist(5), Computer Science (5)- Self Studying Statistics!
A-level: will be taking Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology (expecting a distinction)
Rank: 1/100</p>

<p>EC's: too many to list! Communitry Service, Chemistry Olympiad Team etc. </p>

<p>I took classes at Berkeley, and Harvard have A's in 2 (Linear Algebra, Intro to Finance) a B+ in Organic Chemistry :( ! Will be attending Stanford's EPGY and Penn's M&T Summer Institute.</p>

<p>I am applying for 50% financial aid</p>

<p>Will be applying to:</p>

<p>EA: MIT, Caltech, UChicago
RD: HYPS , Ivies, Northwestern, Tufts, UC Berkeley!</p>

<p>Great stats, and very good chances. Still, you may want one “true safety”. With admissions so competitive, it never hurts to have one safety that is absolutely guaranteed for admission. Good Luck! :)</p>

<p>I’d say a great chance at Northwestern, UChicago, Tufts. Probably get into most of the other schools.
But you might want to refine your ECs. No one wants to see superficial involvement, and if you don’t even know or have time to list all of the ECs you are involved in you are stretching yourself to fit the “perfect applicant.” Choose three big ECs and really put a lot of time and effort into them (leadership positions, demonstrated interest in why you are involved, etc…) Colleges want to see you are PASSIONATE: that is what ECs are for. They are not there to get your into college. You shouldn’t participate in something becuase it is going to look good on your applications.</p>
