"Oooohh I never missed a day of school woooh that's so impressive...I'm gonna put it on my college app"

...when in actuality nobody, especially the admissions department, cares. People miss school for various reasons, including sports/academic competitions/research presentations at universities/and what not. Nobody cares that you never did anything that would require a big enough committment to miss a day of school.

Actually, my school excuses absenses that are school related. I've missed school for sports and leadership institutes plenty of times. That's still perfect attendence. Think what you want, we'll let Cornell be the judge.
P.S.- You're welcome. I'm thoroughly pleased I gave you Pertussis.

Ask your teacher or counselor to emphasize that point but please don't waste the space on the college app by talking about that. We have something called a "brag sheet" when we ask teachers/counselor to write a recommendation. If your school has something similar talk about your perfect attendance in it.

hey grantortue, everyone else has already said basically what I would say about your chances. However, one thing I would say is to make your essays reflect your love of meteorology; that will go a long way to helping you get in. The people reading your essays always like to see that you have shown an active interest in weather and are not just applying to the major because you think its an easier way of getting into Cornell. I know a little bit about the program (hint look at my name hah), so if you have any specific questions I'll gladly help out. Meteorology is a small program within Cornell and CALS with about 16 kids per class to start off with. You get alot of attention from the professors and it's really a close knit community up on the 11th floor of Bradfield (tallest building on campus). Good Luck!!

Nowhere did the OP say this little gem was going in his essay - it's going to be mentioned probably among numerous other things on the application if there is space.
