Maybe. Maybe they are typical. Anyway:

Why would someone cancel their scores if they have score choice? I don’t quite get this and I am curious if I don’t think I did well (I really have no idea how I did. I think I got about 5 or so wrong on each test, with only 1 or 2 blank, but I am aiming for 730+)

What are average SAT II scores for Ivy league schools in Math II, Lit, and Bio (I have no idea if this info is even available or where it could be found)?

And finally, the most subjective of them all:

At top schools, what is considered to be a “good” SAT II score? Should I retake if they are around a 720? How about 750?

Thanks!

Not all schools accept Score Choice. Only some do.

Math II - for Ivy Leagues, get 800. If not, 790, maybe even a little lower, but that’s pushing it.
Lit - 720+ should be good, although Ivy leagues might want higher like 740+ (even though the test is ridiculously hard)

For Ivies, a “good” SAT II score would be 730+, but I strongly recommend 750+, unless the test is Math IIC or Lit (like I mentioned above).

10% of ALL people who take the Math IIC test get 800s, and I’d say a very small percentage of that actually applies to Ivies, so I bet Ivy League college administrators see an 800 Math II score from at least 1/3 to 1/2 of their applicants.

Literature is super hard (supposedly the hardest SAT II out there, so even a 700+ should be good, but unless you’re actually good at literature and can get higher, I don’t recommend taking it.

^you’re grossly exaggerating the difficulty of the literature test…

I’m not that great at literature, and I think I got around 750. I didn’t even prep for it. Just remember that every answer is explicitly in the passage…

Which schools do not participate in score choice? Now I’m worried…

should I retake math IIC if I got 750? I know I can do better, but assuming I make a stupid mistake and get like 780… that’s only a 30 point jump…

also, I never get 800s because I’m unlucky… but lets say I pull out 780s on other tests, like chem, bio, history. that’s basically just as good for ivies, right?

You don’t need an 800 for Math IIC. My Asian friend got admitted to Wharton with a 780.

If I opt to send out all my scores and then retake them, will the colleges I sent scores to only consider my higher scores in admissions decisions?

Thanks.
