Notably visually appealing and user friendly apps vs. notsomuch?

I am goign to be a Sr. this year, so I have just sort of... scanned a few apps. The Common App was pretty decent I thought. THere were some things that could be better but o well. Then I got to USC, which was awesome. I was actually impressed by the setup and input of everything...

But what prompted this probably lame post was the Notre Dame website
It really just discouraged me. I don't know if it was the browser or what. But it seemed so basic and unuserfriendly (the website as a whole actually)

Is it weird that I noticed that too much

any other standouts or major let downs?

the common app interface blows

mit's way of doing things is pretty sexy

brown/stanford/others that use the common applyyourself interface are better than the common app, but they're nothing to write home about

my.mit.edu was awesome =D

Mit and caltech are actually kinda similar and cool.

<3 space to write olympiad awards

well they are the home of the worlds best computer-ppl, so obviously they know how to do it

Ya I LOVE MIT's application program. VERY easy to use and the personal factor can't be beat. I like how they were assuring that the patent essay or optional information was COMPLETELY OPTIONAL. Most schools make you feell like you must put something down even though it will just be a waste of the readers time or a complete repeat of what happened. MIT's ADCOM blogs are also excellent, that's what made MIT my top school. HYP just seem so distant in the process, I received a generic letter urging me to apply, while MIT makes you feel pat of the process.
