Note: Don't Rip Me Apart =D

Hey Guyz,

I am a senior IB Diploma student..wanna know my chances for RD.

School: competitive public (~400 in gr.12) in BC, Canada

SAT I: Highest all: 2190, Highest combined: 2250
SAT IIs: Pending

Courses: Most Rigorous (5Higher levels, 2 Standard Levels, 1 TOK, = Full load IB courses)

Recs: one teacher checked almost all in top few in my career and the rest in top 2/3% and the other teacher i think in top 2/3 or top 10. I dunno what's considered good but she MADE me read it and asked me what i wanted..i was just like "it's fine" LOL, i didn't know what to say ...
Counselor Recs: Top 10% in everything...gar. so mad.

Grades: i think my GPA is ~3.5-3.8 (this term) - 7 A's, 1 B this yr. IB Predicted: 36-38..dunno yet?

not a guarenteeed admit, not a guarenteed reject. gl

lol, whew, at least i'm not an auto-reject =D

You started this same thread in EVERY SINGLE IVY LEAGUE FORUM. Nobody respond to this. If you want your chances, you to the FORUM DESIGNATED FOR IT.

desertman/lynda/kiria: bec u are/is (god, this is hard on the grammar =D) the same person, plz just look at my response to ur other post in all my threads. dun hate me, u already got into ED, no need for competition, even though we are from the same school =)

full ib

i feel your pain

"You" is always followed by "are." How is this hard on your grammar?

Regarding your stats, THE PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD ARE NOT IVY LEAGUE ADMISSIONS OFFICERS. We're students/applicants, just like you. How should we know whether your scores will get you admitted or not? Do we look like we hold part-time jobs in the admissions offices where they vote on applications?

Posting your stats once or twice to get a sense of how you can improve is fine. However, it's extremely pointless to go around CONTINUALLY doing so--this just makes it seem as if you're fishing for compliments. If you're looking for someone to tell you, "Wow, ali_liu, those are the best stats ever!" then you're going to be disappointed, because they're not. If you're looking for someone to tell you that you're a sure admit, then you're also going to be disappointed. People with higher scores than you have been rejected, and people with lower scores than you have been admitted. All that we can tell you is that you have a chance of being admitted, just like any other person who applies to an Ivy League university.

My biggest advice to you: Just chill before you burst a blood vessel or something.

36-38 for predicted IB? That is only going to scrape into their accepted scores range (38+) i'm pretty sure you will be predicted a lot more given what your teachers think of you!

speaking in her defence (partly), our teachers rarely give out 7s for predict marks. there are few classes were no one obtained a 7 predict. usually the easiest class to get 7 predict in is math (and languages). however with a 36 predict I was only ranked (by councelor) to be top 15% of the class.

Isn't this weird how this person GInny Weasley has just 7 posts and all are blasting the OP on all his threads ...

Not particularly.

really? thAt's weird...our teachers give out 7's liberally if they think you'll get it...

what's in your essay?

2-5 % chances judging by your stats.

ali, u can always get fee waivers at these universities if your parents are unable to pay for all of them. ask your counselor, s/he will know the procedures. I have know some friends who got into Harvard with less impressive stats, so don't give up! I'd say you are in the competitive pool.

p.s. even if u don't get in, refer to my post in yale forum "ugly harvard students" and u'll be glad. ;)

sorry for causing all this trouble! plz let this thread die...I am happy to inform u that i shorted my college list, here's the final ones i am applying to:

Dartmouth, Cornell, Columbia, and UPenn...thanx for all the support! =)

no! I refuse to let this thread die! never!

" "You" is always followed by "are." "
I love random grammar reviews. (non-sarcasm)

ooh, musik, we should keep the thread alive to pi** everyone off!!

yes! CC has a purpose now. this will definitely keep us occupied until ...... Christmas

yay. go us muzik, go us.
