Are notes/slide shows for classes available online? I noticed when I was at Vanderbilt that many of the professors posted their slide shows/notes online to supplement their class material, i think there was a note taking service too (or not), and was wondering if Brown has similar resources?

go to webct.brown.edu

username: brown.guest
pw: guest

That might not be too helpful, because a lot of profs make their courses available to guests only for the first few weeks of class.

The answer is, it really depends. I had prof who, in addition to putting up all her slides online, also put some audio from her lectures. Some profs don't use the web for class at all. Some have optional or mandatory class discussion boards online.

If you have a disability, I believe note-taking service is available. http://www.brown.edu/Student_Services/Office_of_Student_Life/dss/resources.html

aidnked thanks! the website contains a lot of links to each professor's website, but i was wondering if you can personalize the site with your list of classes, and have any new notes, etc. linked as at Vandy (sorry if i missed this on the website)

edit: ILoveBrown, you answered my question thanks

dyx -- Once you're at Brown, the classes you're registered for will show up on your personal WebCT site, and you'll be able to go directly to classes you're in, be notified of updates, etc, instead of just seeing all available classes.
