I think it's interesting that there appears to be nothing in the SU threads or elsewhere on CC, e.g., parents threads, regarding the growing Bernie Fine scandal at Syracuse. There are mutliple threads regarding the Sandusky scandal in the Penn state threads and elsewhere on CC. I think this mirrors the difference in attention with the national media as well. While the Fine scandal certainly has gotten media attention, I don't think it's anywhere close to what the Sandusky scandal received. ESPN was pretty much camped out at Penn state for a couple of weeks, I think every student there may have had the opportunity to be interviewed about what they thought. Why the difference? Is it because there is no evidence or suggestion that anyone, including Boeheim, knew about Fine's alleged abuse? Is it because Penn State football is that much bigger than Syracuse basketball, and Paterno is that much bigger than Boeheim? Is it because Syracuse wasn't "first," we just aren't paying as much attention?

I’ve had the same thoughts on the difference of threads and media coverage.
