not a good sign either...since there hasn't been rejections...

I'm in CA and I haven't heard anything yet either...

I'm one of those unfortunate individuals who has yet to recieve a decision letter or an online decision and I'm starting to get the feeling that I've already been rejected. Online decisions for rejectees probably aren't up because a one-word rejection is a pretty hard blow; so CMU's waiting for direct mailings to get through. Eitherway, I'm not a fan of this waiting game. Hopefully, I'm wrong about this.

yeah here's the thing: this would be my second time getting rejected. or should i say "not admitted." i think they use that phrase to soften the blow, which i'll agree, is much less harsher than the one word rejection. even so, i remember getting rejected by mail and it was the worst feeling ever. the letter was incredibly generic... i think i would have rather found out online... actually i have my rejection letter pinned up on my cork board.

Yup, my daughter didn't get any notification, and it is Monday already. We are now all predicting doom.

However, she takes things very well. If she doesn't get it, she will go to either RISD or University of Cincinnati DAAP, both of which are great choices, and it will be CMU's loss.

would it be possible they are sending acceptances first to whom applied multiple programs within cmu? cuz, lets say you got accepted two programs, you choose one, as a result it would be faster for processing waiting list people.. cus students who got accepted more than one program will eventually make at least one or more available spot......
on the other hand, students who applied only one program are considered first choice students (at least internally) and they have nothing to be hurried. Although, in this sense waiting listed people would be the second ones who will receive the letter...this week I guess.................

ahh i really don't know what to say about all of this. i can't speculate on this anymore; this admissions process has been degrading enough as it is.

still nothing yet.

im not feeling too good about this because i still have not received anything and so far i dont know a single person that got rejected. so considering that for the past few days so many acceptances have come im pretty sure that i got rejected from tepper.

i hope that they have only sent out multiple degree program acceptances......i only applied to mcs.

^ditto. (10 char)

By the way, I still haven't received the mailed letter today in MA, and I found out online that I got in yesterday. And I only did 1 degree, so I am not so sure about your multiple degree speculation.

sorry to burst your bubble, but I only applied to HSS....and I got my acceptance last friday...

good luck to those of you who are still waiting...don't lose hope! especially because a lot of the mailing really could be random...and people have been rejected, I'm sure..they just haven't come forward...

Have you all checked online? My son hadn't gotten any snail mail but he looked online tonight and it said that the online decision would be posted 'after' the mail went out- but the online acceptance was there before the snail mail got to us. That's in MA.

thats only been working for ma students.

yea, im predicting doom too. I applied to Tepper and I haven't heard anything. I live in nyc but alot of ppl in my school already heard...so im thinking this isn;t looking too good.

Has anyone who has been accepted sent in their application last minute?

My S applied last minute on 1/1.

Called CMU and was told that the letter will go out later this week.

Does this mean a rejection or is it a possible acceptance for a late filer?

PLANTREE you might want to do a search on 'decisions' on this thread for last year's results. I seem to remember that they were all over the place. I'll keep my fingers crossed for your son!!!!
