I was looking over my UC app and I realized I made a small mistake…I had just moved to a new school senior year and was working off of report cards instead of transcripts (thankfully everything turned out OK anyway!). I took Pre-Calc junior year and got a B both semesters, but on the app. I put A/B. It was an innocent mistake…just checking to make sure this wouldn’t be a problem.

Well, this could be regarded as misrepresenting yourself. If I were you, I would probably call each of the UC campuses and ask. Simply because this would probably change your UC GPA and that may affect your admission.

I'm a little freaked out now......my counselor had helped advise me how to fill it out cause I was coming from another school. i really hope this doesn't effect anything. i guess you're right i should probably call tomorrow...

I think it's ridiculous that UCs don't require official transcripts when sending in your application. People could easily lie and get in (obviously get rejected once a UC finds out they lied), but that could cause another person to be rejected.

umm...yeah...you're right 2+2=5, but i didn't lie (i had an unusual situation and worked as hard as I could to get it right) and i had all's a's that year (it's just one semester out of 16 that year that got screwed up) i didn't make the mistake on purpose

I understand that this is probably an accident, but you should definitely call the UC campuses.

In response to 2+2=5, I think that the reason that the UCs don't require official transcripts is because so many people apply. I mean, imagine receiving so many applicants and then trying to decipher every single transcript. I mean, every school as a different transcript and everything looks different. It isn't like the CollegeBoard tests that can be inputed automatically. Someone would actually have to read and input the information.

Not to mention, requiring official transcripts would most like overwhelm the registrar's office at your high school. For the same reason, UCs no longer require letters of recommendation.

It was DEFINITLY an accident, in fact I did receive an A in Pre Calc at the quarter, but the B was the only final grade on the transcript. I will call tomorrow though...I would be so unbelievably sad if this affected anything....

god I'm a little freaked out. it changed my gpa like .0 something but still I don't want them to think I lied....would they ever rescind admission for something like this? I know my counselor would verify that I filled out the whole application as truthfully as possible w/o the transcript...but I'm still freakout out.
