Notification Date Hypotheses?

Since we're halfway through March I thought it'd be good to get a general sense of when you all think the admission notifications will come in the mail. Obviously the date is April first but the vibes I'm getting are that they should come out in the last few weeks of this month. Thoughts?

Thornton is in the process of finalizing their decisions. I’d assume the other schools are as well. So… this week + next week to finalize for everyone… I’d guess the last week of this month?

Last year (2011) the decision letters were postmarked March 22.

Keeping with that trend means a March 20th postmark date…damn…

BigTexDad - Do you know how they are mailed: First class, express, UPS, etc.?

Does your USConnect profile say your admissions decision or do you not know until you get the letter?

fiyero49 - They have been sent via USPS Priority Mail. For international applicants, they have been sent via DHL delivery.

The letter of admission is in a large white packet. It is enclosed in a cardinal folder embossed with the USC seal. Also enclosed is information regarding orientation and housing options.

The packet is sent by the USPS priority mail.

laurenkes - S’s USConnect changed the day his packet arrived and had boxes that allowed him to sign up for explore or put down a deposit. The change happened before the mail arrived which was the clue that he got in but we didn’t want to get too excited until the packet was in hand.

I live in the bay area and have not received anything so far… Bad sign?

^No! Hang on. Decisions could be mailed any day now!

Wait, have they actually been sent out or are we saying that they WILL be sent out USPS?

^My guess is they hit the mail mid-week and in local mail boxes on March 23rd.

They WILL be sent out :)

Is this just an assumption or do you guys have sources? I am sooo anxious!

Assumptions. Last year mail was marked march 22!

@GeorgiaGirl, do you have any inside scoop on the mailing date again this year?

Something else to think about…last year was post marked the March 22nd, with spring break ending Friday the 18th. This year, Friday of spring break was the 16th! Might be post marked a little earlier this year!!!

^^That’s a thought, racedad. While the adcom works all spring break week, I think I heard that student workers help with the enormous load of mail. Could they be starting to process it all beginning tomorrow?

Squiggles1118 - thanks for the info! I’m going to have to start watching mine like a hawk to see if anything changes!!! Hahaha.
