Notification Date!

I think people last year said it says something generic, like “Harvard application decision” or something like that, so you don’t know until you open it.

^Gmail shows a preview. It’s gonna be right there in the main inbox page. Aghhh.
Small very unrelated note that I just have to say: I was accepted McGill. Weird. I submitted my application like 2 weeks ago, how did they manage to review it so fast :|

I am so glad I didn’t request an e-mail. A small part of me wants to find out ASAP, but mostly, I just want to tear that envelope open.

McGill? Congratulations! Are you Canadian (because I am haha)?
I’m from Ontario and grades are not released until March, so no decisions will be given out to Ontario students before then.

Nope, international. I expected it, my school gets about 6-7 admits there each year, but I’m still wondering how they reviewed it that quickly. Thanks by the way, and good luck there yourself
Now the hard part… MIT, H, and Cornell. Yikes.
I get not asking for the email, I really do. I would do it as well, but I just want to get the decisions over with.
I’m thinking of turning off the message preview in GMail. That way I don’t get ‘We regret to inform you’ or ‘We are happy to…’ (ha.) right in the inbox. Being the perfectionist I am, I’m going to want to be rejected in a full letter, not a partial one :)

I would turn it off too. I’m using Yahoo Classic though, so it won’t show up until I open it

The subject of the e-mail last year was “Your Application to Harvard College”.

Whoa. You can turn Gmail preview off?

Well, for me it’s in a light gray so I can sort of not look at it and just click the subject line.

Jimmy, how did you hear from McGill? Email? My son is waiting for a response from them.

Ahhh, all of this talk is making me nervous haha. I’m so anxious for it. I’m going to be a mess that day, but I’m really excited for it!

Would the decision even show in the Gmail preview? The acceptance e-mail previews I have seen just had the start of “If you’re having trouble viewing this email, you may see it online.”

@Aniger, your son should have a McGill ID and he can check the decision on McGill Minerva (McGill’s portal). He’d also get an e-mail, and later, a package in the mail. This is how Canadian universities do it (:

Too bad Ontario students can’t find out if they got into McGill before March. Grades aren’t sent until then -sigh-

You shouldn’t see the decision in gmail before opening… i didn’t for stanford.
and yeah the subject is neutral… i think it was like “Your admission decision”. somehting to really get your heart pumping.

63 more days guys
ugh seems like a long time actually…

I’m not holding my breath haha

I used to want to find out ASAP…but now…I’m not so sure ><.

52 days!!!

Here’s a countdown. lol

[Countdown March 30, 5:00 P.M.!!](http://www.bored.com/makecountdowns/show.php?id=236926)

@nine9knives

Are you sure your counter counts down to March 30th 5PM EST? because according to my own counter yours is off by 18 hours.

Or is mine wrong?

hmmm, I actually made two countdown timers because in my first one, I don’t think others can see the right time since there is no distinct url: [Online Countdown Timer](http://countdown.onlineclock.net/) and so I made the linked one above. When I was creating the one above, I put March 30 5 PM, but it was 5 hours behind, so I put it at March 30 12 PM. The two timers match currently: 51:01:20:03. So I don’t know what the dealy is. It could be yours or my computer clock that’s messed up - or the website’s programming.

I’m trying to find or create one like this: [The Air Force Academy 2014 I-Day Countdown](http://www.usafa2014.com/) In-processing day, or I-day, is the first day basic cadets go to the college, which is sometime in June. That countdown is a beast. I wonder how the guy created it…

Well I’m pretty sure mine is right. I have one of those windows gadget thing that correlates with the time on my computer.

Now it says 50 days, 00 hours, 27 minutes and 35 seconds
