The email said decisions would be online “at the end of the day” on Friday, March 25th.

Best wishes everyone :)

Got an email stating that,

“The Admissions Committee is currently evaluating all of the Regular Decision applications to Vassar College. We appreciate your interest in Vassar and promise that your application will receive careful consideration. We realize that you are eager to learn the status of your application, and our decisions will be finalized by the end of next week.”

And that I can should check online with my ID and PIN at the end of the day on March 25th for their decision…
I may be overreacting, but does that wording make it sound like a prelude to a denial to anyone else? Sigh, welcome to high anxiety season…

thought the same thing. definitely ominous.

Not at all. I think you’re reading too much into this. It’s just telling you when and where to check for your decision. Don’t fret! And good luck to all.

Thats a mass email. Its sent to every single applicant.

I was thinking the same thing when I got the email ! I was like “hmm…what are they really trying to say ?” Lol

I thought the same. LOL. Vassar is like my dream school.

I thought it sounded ominous as well!!! Of course…I was reading a lot into it. But it was just so formal and direct. Also the “end of the day” part threw me off. I will probably check every few minutes during the day.

I’ll check when the admissions office closes.

I got the same email so I’m pretty sure it’s a mass email

Rec’vd same email --“end of day 3/25”

By end of the day, do they mean end of the working day, like around 5 or 6 PM, or literally the end of the day, at midnight? I know this sounds a little pedantic and stupid, but it’d save me a couple hours of worrying time, lol. Does anyone know?

I’m just guessing, but I suspect that it’s at the end of their working day. Any later and they’d need to send it by some automated, time-delay method. Or have someone come back in and send it. And for what purpose? By hitting [SEND] as they turn off the lights and grab their umbrella right before walking out the door, they’ve communicated the decision and they get a full weekend before they have to deal with the replies wondering if they gave full consideration to that scale model of downtown Poughkeepsie made entirely of craft-sticks and the questions about waitlist rankings, etc. They achieve that whether the message is sent at 4:59 pm or 11:59 pm, so I’m thinking they just hit [SEND] at 4:59 instead of going to the trouble of setting up some auto-send feature that may backfire in some way.

I didn’t receive this e-mail. What does this mean?

Yeah, I didn’t receive this email either. D=

You should have received an e-mail telling you not to worry about not interviewing (if you didn’t interview) and another one in the past, say, 24 hours telling you how and when to check your decision on-line. If not, you may want to confirm that they have the correct e-mail address for you. Another college had the wrong e-mail address for my S until a couple weeks ago, so it happens.

One suggestion: Send an e-mail explaining that you have not received e-mails that you heard about that were intended for all applicants. Assure them that you checked your SPAM folder. Tell them that you suspect they might have an incorrect e-mail address for you. Give them your Common Application number (and check your Common App to see that the e-mail address was correctly entered there) and tell them that they can confirm that the e-mail address you’re writing from is the accurate one.

The fact that you guys haven’t received an email worries me… Perhaps it was a form email to non-admits… :-(

Exactly what’s worrying me, PrinzeMuzic… :-

Don’t worry–it often takes a few days for all e-mails to circulate. Especially since these e-mails were personalized for all applicants and not solely mass e-mails.

To those who have still not received their emails: Are you guys international students?

And to those who didn’t recieve the email… had you recieved earlier messages that linked to the same applicant portal?
Good luck to all, by the way!
