^Same…

I wonder what is the means of “communicating” though. If it’s via the snail mail, we will still get the admission decisions around April 1st. I’m pretty sure the portal once said “we do not use this portal to let our applicants know of the decisions” or something. That means it’s either the snail mail or a new means (possibly an e-mail).

Or maybe it’s none of those and maybe they have sent all the admission decisions through the snail mail on the last week. Then it would make sense getting to applicants’ houses around 21st.

I hope that means applicants will know for sure around 21st.

You can follow the Colgate admissions blog. I think they will post something the day they send out the letters. Looking at the old posts you can see that they put up a picture of the admissions councilors taking boxes of letters to the post office (on March 23, 2011 for RD last year).

For what it’s worth, when I called the admissions office to figure out the portal problem, I was told that they would be mailing decisions by the end of the week :)

So 21st’s a bust :/

ahhhhh so nervous

Are the decisions being mailed today? And does anyone know if international applicants get notified via e-mail too??

internationallie, I am an international student, too. I don’t know whether we are getting an e-mail or not… I am so nervous!!!

I just called the Admissions Office. I was told they are currently finishing last minute touches and are hoping to start mailing them out late today / early tomorrow. Decisions will not be emailed or posted on the portal.

“Will international students get an email as well since the letters take a couple of weeks to arrive?
International students will receive decisions in a variety of ways depending on the decision and where the applicant lives. All students should receive a decision before the end of March.”
I got this from their Facebook page. So, I am kinda expecting an e-mail pretty soon… :/

officially being sent out!

crazy. love that they take a picture with the letter boxes.

Nice picture! and omg, I can’t wait any longer!!! This waiting time is horrible!!!

So will we get any kind of notification in our online portal or I’ll have to wait for an envelope?

^LOOK ON THE PREVIOUS PAGE!!!

Do you guys know what the practice with international students was? Do they email us? I know for domestic applicants they only mail the decisions, but the ambiguous post on the previous page referring to the informing of international “in various ways” piqued my interest as to what I should expect…

Oh…and when they mail decisions do they mean via a courier or regular mail? For internationals again…

For internationals they send them by various couriers depending on the country. They have never sent anything by email in the past and are highly unlikely to this year. If you still have not heard after a reasonable amount of time for the letter to arrive (in other words, when it’s pretty sure that it was lost in the mail or something), then you can call the office and see what they say to do. But you have to be realistic about what’s a reasonable length of time, as hard as it is.

from Colgate website;

Our review of the applications for the Class of 2016 is complete! We had a tremendous group of talented, diverse, and intellectually engaged students who applied this year. Our mail center staff helps us throughout the year in so many different ways so I tried to pitch in and help them out by carrying some of our decision letters to the mail trucks today. It was also a good excuse to get outside on this gorgeous, very warm day. Decisions are now on their way to all parts of the United States as well as 49 other countries around the world. While there can always be an unanticipated delay in delivery, we expect the decisions will reach all applicants before the end of March. Regardless of the decision you receive and where you choose to enroll, all of us in the Colgate Office of Admission have enjoyed the opportunity to work with each of you.

So basically they FedEx/DHL/UPS decisions to internationals?
If so, then I should get mine pretty soon (within 5 business days maybe)…
I live in Eastern Europe and it would normally take FedEx 24-48 hours to deliver something from here to the US, so I doubt that it will take more the other way around. :)

Hopefully these decisions come faster than the ED ones did! I live in Southern New York and my decision didn’t come until three days after they posted that they had sent them. I can’t wait any longer to find out if I got in :(

^^^same here tennisglapr. I think I could have walked the ED decision here faster. Thursday is probably unrealistic (but we can hope ), reasonable hope for Friday and since we are out of town it will undoubtedly arrive on Saturday. Best of luck to all!
