My dd’s finaid award includes Dana scholarship of 4k, but we never got a letter. Even so, Muhlenberg isn’t looking very affordable right now.

^^^^ are you sure that doesn’t mean $4,000 per semester? Meaning $8,000 per year.

Would that make a difference?

Dana Assoc., Muhlenberg Scholars and RJ Fellowes are each a total $4K value. Broken out as $2K each semester.

Sent from my SCH-I405 using CC

I forget there’s also a Presidential Scholarship. That, with the Muhlenberg Scholars and a talent scholarship brought my D’s total merit award to around $20,000 per year, which made the school very affordable for us. Could not have gone to our in-state flagship for much less than that, and they do not have the program she was interested in.

Exactly as above- 4k for Dana plus $16 presidential = 20k merit. This wasn’t supplemented by need based aid which we needed. Bryn Mawr College has $35 need based, no merit. That’s why I think Muhlenberg is not affordable. Their NPC (net price calculator) estimated Mihlenberg would be out most affordable private, but this has not turned out to be the case. That’s why we cast a wide net (11 schools)

I am in Westchester Cnty and have not yet heard from M. I am getting nervous as the berg is one of my first choices.

I’m in NY, and still have yet to receive a decision. Besides Skidmore, Muhlenberg is the only college I haven’t heard back from. They sure know how to keep a guy in suspense.

My daugther received her notice from Berg to find out she is waitlisted! Anyone had success with a strategy that turned waitlist to acceptance at the Berg- please share. Thank you

still haven’t heard anything! is there a way to know sooner? If I call would they tell me my decision?

humble12012, we got the wait list letter today as well. Did yours include the letter saying if berg is your first choice pls respond letting us know? Curious how many are accepted from the wait list if anyone has information. THX

Last year info from Muhlenberg

Number of qualified applicants offered a placed on waiting list 1670
Number accepting a place on the waiting list 345
Number of wait-listed students admitted 21

Note that some schools will allow you to delay your commitment if you are waiting to hear from your #1 school. In other words, while on the waiting list, you may be able inform your #2 school that you are waiting to hear from Muhlenberg. Small schools are usually accommodating (big ones are often bureaucratic)

To those who are wait listed - my advice- call, e-mail- tell them how much you (or your child) want to be a part of Berg. It is very important to them that Berg be your #1 choice and that you really, really want to be there. The more contact the better. This is why ED applicants are accepted at such a higher percentage. I guess this is one of the reasons the atmosphere seems so warm and inviting. Mostly everyone really wanted to be there!

Dana Scholar!!

Congrats tolstoy2!

Waitlisted, and I am an international student. How much are my chances?

I’m an international student and I was waitlisted as well. Coincidence? hahaha
