Hi! So I heard a rumor that although UConn says they have a firm notification date, in actuality, notifications are rolling. Now that the 12/1 deadline passed for priority scholarships consideration, will we have to wait until 3 months from now (March 1)? I’d really like to make my decision before then especially since I’ll be hearing back from my tied-number 1 school in a couple days.
Last year was firm. it was the last Friday in February at about 5pm. If you look back at posts here it has been that way for the past 2 or 3 years…NO MORE ROLLING. My daughter heard from her #2 & #3 school by November and it was difficult to wait until late February. Some students began to hear in January…only transfers and art students…I heard it was because their deadlines were different.
Just to expand on TLD1267’s comment about art students, it applies to all fine arts majors that have to submit portfolios for review. The portfolio deadline IS earlier than the common app deadline, so assuming both common app and portfolio are submitted by portfolio deadline, there is definitely the opportunity for a slightly earlier admissions notification.
Yeah this was the weekend that decisions came back for the Fine Arts students last year, so it makes sense if she was applied to DMD or some other fine arts major.
I’ve applied in November as a Transfer student for pre-kinesiology, but my application says they recieved all my information on Dec. 31 so I’m sure it’ll be awhile until I hear.
