When does uconn really start sending out decisions for EA? I know when they say they will be sent out (early Feb) but when do they actually start mailings?

When they say is when they actually do.

FWIW, last year my son heard back around mid-December.

^ Sorry if my understanding was unclear. This is quite possible, because the policy is that individuals applying early action will hear BY February. It is quite likely that students who apply earlier will receive notification earlier.

Last year my son heard 12/12, a very happy day. His other top choice (UDel) didn’t send notice out until mid-March. He ended up at UDel, but it was a tough choice. He loved both schools.

Thank you RedSox and Handemom, that’s exactly what I was looking for.

I Applied in late october. Met with a rep at a college fair the next day. Early in the conversation he asked when I applied, and at the end of the conversation he said to expect a decision in february.

If he was taking my application date into account, you’re still looking at feb if you’ve applied recently. If not, maybe we’ll both be hearing earlier.

@Handemom: When did he apply, if you don’t mind me asking?

I think my son’s app was complete (including things sent from the school) by sometime in early November. If I remember correctly, he sent his app in late October.

@Handemom: Thank you so much for the info!

I think it might depend on what your credentials are. Students with better stats might hear sooner.
Either way, you don’t have to let them know until May 1.

My son got admission package yesterday. He applied on 10/30. His stat: SAT 1430/2170 super score. SAT II: math II: 760, chemistry: 740. weighted GPA: 4.1, top 5%-10%.

Good luck to everyone!

CTBmom, can you please put that information here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-connecticut/812385-admissions-results-reference.html?
