My son has applied to CofC for Fall of 2016. He has also applied to the Honors College. Does anyone know if the acceptance notification comes at the same time or separately?
My understanding is the Honors notification comes separately.
Thx
When will we first hear about our decisions?
When we met with Ms Knapp from the Honors College she told us they try and get the acceptances out in Dec so that students that are eligible for William Aiken interviews and scholarships will have time to make travel plans because they have them End of January or beginning of Feb.
Has anyone received Honors notification yet? Website said mid December to early January? Any info would be greatly appreciated .
Nothing received yet at our home.
Nothing here either.
I just got into Cofc Honors and an invite for their interview weekend!
Congrats . No mail here yet.
@Chopinspiano My son just got his letter and invitation too. Is your understanding that only 10% of Accepted Honors students are invited to this weekend?
@carolinamom2boys Congrats! I know you and your son are happy! And yes that is my understanding.
See you in February.
I got my letter today that I was accepted to the Honors College and invited to interview!
Congrats @HigherEdHopes . Are you instate? See you in Feb.
D still hasn’t heard anything either way. Her stats are at the level that she should get into honors but her essay wasn’t as good as she normally writes so who knows. It would be nice to hear.
@me29034 It sounds like letters are still being sent out for interview weekend. Other letters will continue to be sent out as the year progresses. I understand wanting to know as you have some great choices and offers from other schools. Hopefully you’ll hear soon. The letter that my son got was certified mail. Maybe the holidays are holding things up.
@carolinamom2boys I am hoping it is just the holidays holding up the mail. When you heard right before Christmas I was hoping that it would arrive this week for us, but so far nothing. I really am not expecting the interview weekend. I don’t know what the cut off is for that, but I don’t think she would be in the top 10% of honors kids. I do think she should be in the honors college though.
I agree based on what you’ve said about her and the other schools she’s been accepted to. I think the only letters out so far are for the interview weekend. There’s still time. I wish you could’ve seen Honors when you visited. I’ll keep my fingers crossed. Charleston is a wonderful city with a lot to offer culturally and socially. I hope that CofC remains a viable choice.
I am from Colorado so it’s a big trip for me to make. I have to decide if it’s something I’ll do or not.
