Notification of Scholarships?

American says their decisions won't be mailed out until mid March. How is anyone hearing now. They admissions officer was very sure of this.

clarification on wildflower --by DVMMOM

"I looked at original wildflower posts to other threads. He/she?? describes himself as a 21 yr old attending community college with a college gpa of 3.7 and an unusual tale of non-US citizen hardship. If this is all on the level, his acceptance is not relevant to the applications of 05 seniors."

Thanks for the clarification, lol. However, I would be a little more cautious before posting people's info without their consent. Granted, this is a public forum, but nonetheless, one should be respectful and considerate.

Having said that, I'd have to add that certainly my circumstances are not common, or usual, by any means. I will graduate high school this spring --yes, being 21 y.o.--, and will earn an 2-year degree concurrently. My story is too long to explain, you could of course, read a bit on the Law School section of this forum. Nevertheless, one thing should be crystal clear, and that's the fact that I wouldn't worry and/or compare your situation to mine. Best of Luck guys -may be I'll meet some of you there!

Oh! by the way, I did apply to the School of International Service. Should I decide to attend American, I'll probably attempt to earn a BA/MA. We shall see. Once again, best of luck to all of you!

Well it is like the second week of March so it's sorta mid-March. But as far as I'm concerned, two students (including me) have heard from AU.

which school maddy? Is AU your first choice?

AU's one of my top choices. I don't really have a "first" choice. Right now I'm somewhat disappointed with AU because I needed a scholarship and I didn't get one with my acceptance letter. Hopefully I am a scholarship recipient though. If not, I'll be surprised because I've been accepted to other schools "harder" to get in with a scholarship. shrugs

lol. Where else did you apply maddy? what are your stats? if you don't mind.

Apart from AU... Reed College. Lewis & Clark (Accepted). Fordham. Franklin & Marshall. Manhattanville (Accepted).
My stats? I dunno. I don't have the best stats in the world =P.

lol. I was going to apply to reed and L&C but changed my mind at the end. Excellent schools though. Here in the Northwest --where I live--, I applied to Seattle University, Evergreen State College, Pacific Lutheran and UW-Tacoma. I am leaning towards Evergreen since I may get a full-tuition waiver, which is certainly nice. However, we'll see what American offers me. I'd go in debt for Stanford though.

I hope AU gives me something :/. They can't give me nothing especially when L&C gave me something. I have a feeling I'm going to end up at L&C because it would be the "cheapest" for me with the scholarship and financial aid I got. Sigh. We'll see in a few weeks time...

I heard from AU a couple of days ago (about a week ago through email). I got my scholarship information in the mail with my admissions packet...but I was a little dissappointed. I only got 15,000. Not be presumptious or anything but I really thought that I would get more from AU...I guess this means I will be going somewhere else.
