As you guys know, I applied ED and we are supposed to receive notification December 1, but at the bottom of my OnTrack it says that they are still busy processing documents and that it will take several more weeks for everything to be in order. Yet, at the top, it still says I will be notified on the same day...?

Basically, it's a total contradiction and since things are getting down to the wire, I was just wondering what I could expect as far as notification goes. I've heard that some counselors call you, depending on who you have. Will your OnTrack update on midnight on that date? What will happen?

Hi, I’m also doing ED for Elon. My OnTrack account said “in processing” under “application status” for awhile, but now it says “application complete”. I think “in processing” means they have everything, but they haven’t completely finished organizing your file…? I’m not really sure. If you want, go ahead and call the admissions office. I’ve called them a few times already (there was a problem with my counselor rec. form) and they were really nice and helpful. Maybe talk to your guidence counselor too? They might know.

As for notification, based on reading last year’s CC elon ED thread, you can log on at midnight to find out. I also saw another thread where someone did get a call around thanksgiving. But I agree, I think it is based on your admissions officer and if they decide to call you early or not. Otherwise, I think you just log on at midnight.

Last year some kids got calls, but most logged on at midnight on 12/1 to get their results. My daughter did not get a call, but she got good news at 12:01 am!

Thank you guys! I sent an e-mail to my admissions counselor and she’s usually pretty prompt in responding, so I’m sure she’ll get back to me in a couple of days. I would love to have a call, but if not, I can wait until midnight on the 1st.

@mlp2011: have you posted your stats on here anywhere? I’m very nervous and just looking for a comparison to my own to ease my mind a little…

I wouldn’t bug your admissions counselor, trust me Elon’s admissions department runs very smoothly and they will give you your answer at 12:01am on December 1st. I was a ED applicant last year, and when I heard everyone was getting calls i got so upset, but I ended up getting in. My friend applied ED to and was differed, wait listed, and then got in in March, so stay calm, I know it is stressful. Good luck, let me know if you have any questions!

My counselor e-mailed me back today and said that I should rest assured, as my decision will be available on the 1st no matter what, and that the note at the bottom of my OnTrack that I referred to was supposed to be for EA applicants only, and that it shouldn’t have been on my page. I’m just afraid I’ll get deferred… my counselor is a seemingly very sweet lady, though, so I’m glad I ended up e-mailing her again.

I know, I’m slowly freaking out. I’m trying to set myself up for the worst, just in case, but hope for the best. I’ve gotten accepted everywhere else I’ve applied, so it would be the first time I get rejected…

AH! I feel like everyone has already gotten some acceptances but none of my schools have notified me yet so I’m still freaking ouuuttt! What schools have you been accepted to?

I got accepted to Lenoir Rhyne, Wingate, and Young Harris. None of them are my top 2, but I’d consider a least a couple of them, due to the money they offered me.

On a somewhat strange note - last year some people claimed they had been called early from a number of schools and as it turned out they had not been called and it was a hoax. Good to remember that this public forum… Good Luck Everyone…

@leanne…I’ve applied to University of South Carolina (honors), College of Charleston, High Point, and UConn…all of which begin notifying in a few weeks. Only 8 more days until Elon notification, though! :)

I know!! it seems like the days are just dragging on until then…
I’m applying to High Point if I don’t get accepted to Elon.
I’ve never visited, but I’m sure it’s really beautiful there as well.
have you been?

not sure if i missed anything…sorry if i did.

i love elon so much and can’t believe it’s only about a week until we find out! hopefully, maybe sooner, but im not counting on that. i totally agree that the days have been going by way too slowly!

leanne2213- i visited high point the day after i visited elon. It’s insanely beautiful, the facilities are amazing, and everyone was really nice. Didn’t seem like academics were all that challenging though. I liked it overall though. I think it will be more popular in the next few years too.

mlp- are you considering High Point as a second choice if Elon doesn’t come through?
if I ever get to visit it, I may end up considering it. I honestly cannot see myself anywhere else besides Elon, though, and I started doing tutoring and lots of other things this year wayyyy after I sent in my ED app to Elon, since I just wanted to get my app sent in and was unaware things would be changing. My Chem teacher mentioned all this in her letter to Elon, though, so hopefully that helps.

You’ll have to keep me posted on how everything goes!

@leanne, i completely agree with what mlp said about High Point – beautiful, but not very…serious? if that makes sense.

I’m glad I’m not the only one completely in love with one school (Elon, of course). My friends all say they’d be happy at any of their schools and make fun of me for being so dead set on one school haha

oh no, I am definitely dead set on Elon haha. it’s never wrong to know what you want!
but for me, that makes it all the more dreadful to wait this long.

leanne2213-i am applying to high point, but its not one of my top schools that I am applying to as back-up in case i don’t get into elon. by the way, a boy at my school just got into high point. he applied early decision and loves the schools as well.
xbuddyx3- i know exactly what you mean! only a few other kids in my grade, including the boy whos going to high point, are applying early decision somewhere.

i totally feel like elon is the school for me. its amazing. can’t believe a week from today we’ll know ahhh!!
