good morning all; it was my daughter who received the cell phone call at 5:00 PM…didn’t want to freak everyone out by posting when she got it…soooooo excited and emotionally exhausted!!!

Congratulations all. My D is waiting for EA which is not til the 20th. Considereing how well you all did, I should probably get her to post in this forum or thread, it seems to be a good luck charm.

Congratulations everyone! It’s fun to log in this morning and read all of these good reports. Do post your basic stats if you have a minute - GPA (specify if it is weighted or unweighted) and test scores. Thanks.

Good luck to your daughter!
My stats are:
-overall 3.35 (unweighted 4.0 scale) GPA
-610 on reading, 690 on math, 710 on writing for the SAT so 1200 m+r and 1910 combined
-I got a 28 on the SAT
-I took one honors class last year and am taking three AP classes this year as well as two “select” classes
-I go to Wilton High School in Connecticut which is one of the top 100 schools in the country
-I am compete and am often a team captain for Wilton Pony Club where I compete in Dressage, Show Jumping, Tetrathlon, and Cross Country

-I hold a leadership position at my church where I am a church school teacher and youth group leader
-etc.
GOOD LUCK!!

Congratulations to all of you who were accepted! My S applied EA, so we still have a bit of a wait. We’re in the Pacific time zone (California), so I guess we won’t have to stay up too late that night :)

westcoastlatte, I don’t recall seeing anything about them calling for EA, only that the decision will be available on 12/20. Have they said they’d call for EA too?

mhc48 - I haven’t seen anything about phone calls for the EA applicants, either. We’re assuming we’ll have to wait until that night to find out online. Better in a way, I think. Since only some of the (ED) candidates got phone calls, I think we can do without any added doubt those last few hours!

xbuddy, i will be more than happy to send you a link when i get home, since my school blocks facebook and i can’t really access it right now =/

i’m soooo happy for us! every one of us got in ED!!! that’s HUGE! : )

If anyone applied ED and was deferred or rejected - please know that many of us have been there and we know it is very disappointing. If you were deferred - there is still hope. I would suggest sending mid-year grades and an additional recommendation - maybe from a senior year teacher or from someone else who knows you very well - a coach or an EC advisor. If you are reading this and need help/suggestions/support - I am sure there are several parents who regularly read the Elon forum, including myself, who would be happy to help you.

Wow. Sorry! I was really distracted when I posted that!! I got a 590 on my math for the SAT and you are right 28 for the ACT haha sorry about that!
Here’s the link!

I just want to share something President Lambert told the Class of 2014 at Fall Convocation, regarding the many opportunities that await you during your time at Elon:
“Seek out new opportunities and challenges. Metaphorically speaking, you have arrived at a great banquet. Don’t make yourself a bologna sandwich.”
