I know that March 31st at 5 pm is the time that decisions will be available online, but how exactly will they be made available? Will they be emailed directly to us? available through the online app tracking system? some other manner? My apologies if it's already been addressed. Thanks!

i believe we will have to use that 4-digit pin that we had to choose while applying.

Do you know if immediately when you log in the decision is there, or do you have to click on another link? I just want to know if I need to prepare myself BEFORE I log into the tracker, or after. :)

i totally forget my pin… is it the pin to the online tracker??

ontheradio, if it’s the pin you used to apply (I don’t know whether it is), and if you used the common app, then you can pull up a copy of your common app supplement to find it.

Well… im not sure if this means sent by mail, but the website does say “Princeton admission decisions sent to applicants.” for march 31. So this may mean they e-mail it to you, or it may mean that that’s the day they snailmail it.

^ Neither. It’s posted on the site.

some will have decisions online (i.e yale)
some will e-mail decisions (i.e. harvard)

Where exactly do we go… it is just on the undergrad admission page, will they post a link where we have to log in?
I have no idea where (what page) we actually put in our pin to get our decision

the website to check is https://notify.princeton.edu

Princeton should have sent you an email regarding how to check your decision.
I got it about 1.5 weeks ago.

It basically says that you need to create an username and password by today (hurry up!) using the 4-digit code you put on the application.
Then you can check on https://notify.princeton.edu.

I hope this helps!

i just found my pin! it was on my supplement. its so easy haha

Haha muchas gracias. ends up I a while ago. the past week has just felt like months!

what if i never got that e-mail???

If you have used the online tracking to look at the status of your application, then the user name and password you used for that is all you need for retrieving your decision. If not, you will need to use the PIN to register.
here is the text of the email:

Admission decisions for applicants to the Princeton Class of 2013 will be available online on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 after 5 p.m. EDT. We also will send decision letters by standard mail to all applicants.

If you already registered to use Princeton’s application tracking system to verify whether we received all of your application materials, you must use that username and password to see your decision.

If you have not yet registered, you must register to use Princeton’s application tracking system. Due to the large number of students we anticipate visiting the site when it goes live, the registration system will be unavailable from 4 to 8 p.m. EDT on March 31, 2009. Accessing your decision online involves a two-part process:

To register you must have two pieces of information: the email address and PIN you recorded on your Princeton application. You will use the email address and PIN from your application to create a username and password. We recommend that you write down the username and password you create when you register. To register, go to https://admissionapp.princeton.edu/uarcd/.

In order to view your decision, you will be required to enter the username and password you created during registration. Please note that your username and password are not the same as your email address and PIN.
