"Scholarship notification is sent subsequent to the letter of admission between January 15 and April 15."

So here is my situation: I am on the fence for top 10% at my school, and I have a 1370 SAT (Math + CR) from the June SAT. I got a 30 on the ACT. I forget exactly how the table on the site looked, but about how much money is a 1400 SAT with top 10%?

That was just a sidenote, but the more important question is:

Since Rutgers notifies you in January-April, they are taking your Class % from your freshman, sophomore, junior, and 1st semester of senior year. Correct? So if I can pull A's in most of my AP courses (Its going to be tough, but if I see the light at the end of the tunnel I can do it.) in the first 2 marking periods of my senior year and solidify myself within the top 10%, I should be fine right?

I've been planning to go to Rutgers for some time now, and the only thing that will prevent me from going there is a less than fair scholarship offer.

I guess? Haha. I know, sorry, I’m not being very helpful =(

But, I believe that they will take into account mostly everything up to first semester of senior year like you said.

And you being white won’t put you at a disadvantage for money. It’s based on merit, not race.

Anyway, good luck during senior year and don’t screw up!

(For some reason, I’m having trouble finding that chart that states how much money you would receive if you had a specific SAT score – anyone have any luck locating it?)

mushaboom, as another poster has written, scholarships are not based on a rigid sat score–class rank matrix. they’re taking other things in consideration such as course difficulty and i thiiink extracurriculars. just do a quick forum check.

OP: top 10% and >1400 sats would have gotten you $10,000. but with the new paradigm, it’s up in the air. this could also help you, since you’re planning on taking ap classes and doing well on them. best of luck! (and if it’s any consolation, senior year was the best year for me academically, even with a bunch of aps thrown in there. i didn’t really work any harder; everything just kind of came together. i hope it goes this way with you! just keep it up until january to impress a few adcoms, then you can tone it down a bit and actually enjoy senior year : )

Thanks mushaboomblue, I think they took down the chart for the summer

Thanks naoise, I was really surprised by my AP scores. I got 4s on both US history and English. To be honest, I didn’t do any studying besides the work due for class. You know where I am coming from with the “push it until January and then relax” attitude.

Now lets get that math up to a 690 and let the cards fall into place.

My ECs aren’t spectacular like some people I see on here (where do they find the time?). I’ve played baseball my entire life and ran track since starting High School. The only EC I TRULY participate in is called DECA. I am the President of that and have been #1 in NJ for Sports and Entertainment marketing.

I’ll keep everyone informed and hopefully I can come back to this board in a couple years and answer people’s questions.

Oops, I did not mean to use “specific” for SAT thing O_o

Oh, and I guess they changed the criteria, so they don’t have that chart anymore?

Anyway, good luck though 1stEdition. Maybe you’ll find a college that will offer even better money, but I hope Rutgers will be one of those colleges that will do so.
