According to the calendar on the Olin webpage, they plan to mail notifications on Friday (Mar. 18). Anyone getting excited?

Holy ****, I thought it wasn't for another week. Oh man, I'm dying x_x

Try not to sweat about it too much. Way easier said than done, I realize.

Good luck.

So they mail friday, which means monday we see if we are in? are they still overnighting these?

I think I got the candidate's weekend mail on the date they listed they were going to mail it

good luck guys :) as I experienced rejections suck :D

Dear lord, Tomm already?

Oh joy, taking that physics exam just wont be easy....
Any one care to bet on the number of phone calls Ill make home?

fingers crossed
i've had my share of olin rejection dreams already...

i read that decisions are also going to be posted online....

The schedule says that they're planning to mail the decisions today and post them online on Monday, but for the Candidates round the online was available the first day, so who knows? Good luck, everyone!!

are they sending them by UPS again? or regular mail? If its UPS I feel since Im on spring break, the UPS person might have a new stalker.

They didn't post anything online for us. We had to walk uphill both ways to the mailbox...

Last year both fat envelopes and wait list notices came by DHL, but who knows if they've changed that. [There's a required freshman class here that hasn't had the same name for more than one semester to date. Making assumptions about how stuff will work based on what happened a year ago is very sketchy.]

Luck.

I walked past Admissions yesterday and there was a sign on the door indicating that the staff had gone to the UPS store to mail letters. So there you go.

thanks for the info.
I have this strange feeling the UPS person in our area might have a new stalker.....
I love spring break.

Has anyone heard yet?

yeah, waitlisted/deffered year
already emailed and got a spot on the waitlist i hope. may the harrasment begin

That was me a year ago.

Keep in mind that everything at Olin is in a constant state of flux so what happened last year doesn't mean a whole lot...

But lots of people got in off the waitlist last year.

Luck.

Congratulations on getting waitlisted! (it's not a bad thing). I hope you get in, but in case that doesn't happen, I would encourage you to consider the deferred year option. From what I understand, they didn't really publicize this a lot at CWE, but it's a GREAT opportunity. For Partner year, 14 of us who were waitlisted decided to take the deferred option, and it was fantastic. There is a lot to be said for leaving home and living in "the real world" for a year between high school and college. I know I grew up a lot that year (did AmeriCorps in San Jose).

But I guess it's not right for everyone--I really REALLY wanted to come to Olin, and I wasn't in a big hurry to get through my four years of college. Also, my parents were really supportive (not like "you're going to waste a year!?!").

Good luck deciding what's right for you... if you have any questions about deferring a year, contact me or post, and I'll try to help.

Well, I just got the email back. Im on the waitlist. any one got ideas if i pick the deffered year? My sister is having kids (possibly triplets!!) in november so things in life are getting interesting.

tomboy, I'm glad to hear you decided to accept the waitlist position: I'll hope for the best, for a space opening for you in the fall!

The UPS guy finally arrived out here: my son has been accepted. I'm very excited and proud, and hopeful for all the rest of you who are waiting to hear.

OlinSam - you have messages and email turned off but i would love to ask you some questions. My mother is not eleated about me throwing around the phrase deffered year, esp. with an offer from MIT on the table. So I would really like to get your imput on it.
