Hi there. No problem at all!

Freshmen do live in the Wabash building. When you fill out housing forms, there is a space to request a roommate if you like. Many students talk via the Facebook group for the incoming class and find roommates there. Both students who want to room together must request each other on their forms, and they do everything in their power to place those people together. If you don’t know a specific person, you can also just request to be put with a CCPA person.

People do actually study abroad over the summers. Several students from my class have studied abroad. The BADA summer program has been popular. The school does post any notices that they receive about auditions or applications on a bulletin board near the Theatre Office.

If you manage your time right, you will have a small amount of downtime. The CCPA theatre kids tend to stick together. To be honest, I really only hang out with students in my class or theatre students of other years in CCPA. You bond with your class A LOT and those people really do become your best friends. If you have an interest in branching out and meeting other students, it’s definitely not impossible and many do it!

Chicago offers SO many different options for downtime. People see shows, go to museums, go shopping, go exploring, etc but sometimes, all you really want to do is hang out at the dorms with your friends and relax. Like I said, if you manage your time correctly, there can be time to do all of these things. :-)

Let me know if you have any other questions!
