So whatever scholarship we recently won, we have to let our colleges know? Some of my colleges won't send out acceptances till April 1. Am I supposed to let all of them know, or just the ones that have accepted me?
Are we supposed to report all of the scholarships that we've won?

I know that if you have been accepted colleges need to know what scholarships you have been awarded as it affects your financial aid package. I am not sure what you are to do about schools that have not notified you yet about acceptance. I think I would wait to see if you get accepted and then report scholarships to them. And yes...every scholarship is to be reported. Most scholarships are sent either directly to the school or sent to your house with the schools name already on it. As soon as you decide which school you are going to attend, you should notify each scholarship provider of that decision so that the check will be made out appropriately. Hope that helps.

If you will be comparing financial aid packages when choosing a college, it would be a good idea to let the financial aid offices at colleges know now. That way, you will have updated award letters for your decision. Colleges have different policies when it comes to outside scholarships, and you might find that certain schools' treatment of outside scholarships comes out more in your favor than others.

All schools that hvae received a financial aid application for you must be notified of your outside scholarship awards. Those funds will impact your eligibility for other aid and it is better to let them know now, while you are still deciding, than later, after you have made a financial committment to the school. This way, you can accurately compare packages.
