Notifying a College that "I decline"

<p>I have selected the college that I want to attend next fall, and I want to respectfully notify the other colleges that offered me admission that I will not be attending those schools. In order to inform them of my decision, should I:</p>

<ol>
<li>send an email, </li>
<li>send a letter, or </li>
<li>give them a phone call?</li>
</ol>

<p>Either 1 or 2. A lot of colleges send a postcard you can check off and send back, but if you didn’t get one of those either a polite email or letter will be fine. “Thank you for your offer of admission, but I have decided to attend college elsewhere.”</p>
