Once a decision is made, do you have to notify the other colleges that you will not be accepting their offer of admission? If so, how?

Only 3 of the colleges that my son applied to sent him a small card wanting to know if he accepted their offer. The others only state in the admission letter that he needs to accept their offer by May 1st, but no return card.

HELP!!

He wants to do the right thing.

It's the polite thing to do. If you didn't get a return card for a certain school, send a brief letter to the admissions department, essentially saying "Thanks, but no thanks." Technically speaking, it's not required, but it is "the right thing."

Most times, you can go to the online enrollment confirmation page and there is an option to decline admission.

If that doesn't work, just send an e-mail to the admissions office.

Great advise. Thanks so much!

Best of luck to you both
